Somatic Voice Coaching
-
Somatic Voice Work is an embodied and holistic approach to vocal expression that reconnects voice, body, and emotion. It integrates awareness of physical sensations, breath, and inner states to support healthy, authentic, and resonant voice use. Rather than focusing solely on technique, it invites an exploration of the interconnectedness of body, mind, and sound, by using movement, mindfulness, and vocal practices to release tension, regulate the nervous system, and open pathways for deeper self-expression. Rooted in principles from yoga, somatic psychology, and breathwork, this practice cultivates presence, freedom, and an intimate connection to one’s natural voice.
-
A somatic voice work session, typically lasting 1.5 to 2 hours, starts and ends with a little sharing on where you are, what you need and experienced. After an initial sharing, you’ll be guided through a somatic exercise or meditation to help you arrive fully into the space, warming up both your body and voice for deeper engagement.
The core of the session then focuses on one or more chosen topics tailored to your needs. This can include a blend of voice and breathing exercises, like free toning, humming, or pranayama alongside bodywork techniques such as acupressure and soundbaths, designed to release tension and support vocal freedom. The session emphasizes exploration through body and breath awareness, gentle movement, and vocal improvisation, encouraging curiosity and authentic expression rather than perfection. Throughout, the interaction between breath, body, and voice is attentively guided, helping you develop trust and presence with your natural sound.

Somatic voice work supports anyone longing for more ease, confidence, and presence in their voice, whether in speaking or singing. It’s especially helpful for those who have learned to hold back or control their voice, such as people struggling with performance anxiety, perfectionism, or feeling blocked or self-critical about expressing themselves. This approach creates a safe space to gently meet and release these patterns, supporting emotional regulation and authentic self-expression. It is relevant to anyone wanting to deepen their connection to the power and authenticity in their voice to feel empowered, communicate with greater clarity and confidence, or simply reclaim the joy and freedom of vocal expression.
